Rick Shera
Rick has a Masters degree with honours in copyright and internet law and is a partner at corporate, commercial and IT law firm, Lowndes Jordan. He focuses on digital business law, including commercial advice, capital raising, AI, IT and IP, and is one of New Zealand’s leading cybersecurity and privacy lawyers. He advises on both cybersecurity legal preparedness and in IR breach situations.
Rick was chair of Netsafe for two decades, on the founding advisory board of CERT NZ, and is the only lawyer to be accredited as a Chartered IT Professional. He is a Chartered Member of the IOD and was made a Fellow of InternetNZ in 2017.
Steve Honnis
Steve has a Master's degree in Strategic Studies, is a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Certified Information Security Manager. He leads a team of governance, risk and compliance consultants at Bastion Security Group. He has a long career working in security, intelligence and public safety roles and currently spends much of his time working with Board members and executive leaders in business and government agencies on understanding and managing their cyber security risk. He serves as a Director of Netsafe, New Zealand's online harms charity and Harmful Digital Communications Agency, and lives in Wellington.
Tandi McCarthy CMInstD
Tandi has been an Information Security Practitioner for over ten years after transferring from Risk and Compliance roles in the Financial sector. She is currently a virtual CISO and CIO supporting NZ businesses in protecting their information. However the bulk of Tandi’s Information Security work has been as a Public Servant managing both Security Assurance and Security Operation functions.
